Children's Dentistry

Around the age of three or four is a good time to start taking your child to the dentist although on occasion we recommend children see the dentist as early as a year old. Of course they won't actually need much dental care then, it's more to get them comfortable with the environment.

Sealants

Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria. The sealants are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often. This is done without "drilling" and drastically reduces the risk for cavities.

Fluoride varnish

Fluoride varnish is a highly concentrated form of fluoride which is applied to the tooth's surface after your child's dental cleaning. The colorless varnish is painted on the tooth and immediately the child can eat and drink, no more waiting for 30 minutes. Fluoride is extremely beneficial in reducing cavity risk, and in keeping your child's teeth healthy.
